Courtnay Mawhorter
I was born and raised in Kelowna BC and lived on a small farm for 20 years. After graduation I worked at a church with the youth ministry, attended post secondary and became a Unit Clerk for 2 years. I desired to learn and grow deeper in my knowledge and relationship with God and so attended Briercrest College and received my BA in Christian Ministry. After graduating I spent a month in Uganda before moving to Ladner and marrying my amazing husband, Josh, 12 years ago. We have 3 awesome children and our sons have attended DCS the past few years. We have been members at Ladner Baptist Church for about 7 years and have enjoyed serving in various ways. Before having children I worked for Africa Inland Mission as an Assistant Provincial Mobilizer but resigned after our oldest was born. Now I have the wonderful opportunity to help in the office of the school we have come to love. We are so thankful for DCS and the education, care and support that our boys have received and look forward to the day when our daughter will enter these halls as a student.
One of my favorite passages is Philippians 4:4-9. My hope and prayer is that each child will know that they are in a school that cares deeply for them and prays for them. I pray that we can show by example this passage to our students and that they might go out and be this in our world around us.
